He offers to kill Batman in exchange for half of their money, but the gangsters refuse this and Gambol put a bounty on his head. Joker then kills Gambol and takes control of his men while Batman captures Lau him and bring him back to Gotham to testify against Joker and mobsters. Joker announces berserk that people will die each day until Batman will reveal their true identity. Then he kills the Commissioner Gillian B. Loeb and the judge dealing berserk with mobsters judgment.
After another series of attacks, Bruce seems decided to reveal his identity, but Dent himself as Batman to protect the truth. Dent is then placed berserk in a protection program and Joker frantic chases through the city. Although initially is captured by Batman and the police, this was because the Joker and wanted to be there and he eventually escape and continued to terrorize the town.
