Hi Bill, Hey look, I'm only solving a week behind. That's progress! I may have fixed the problem that left me in your spam folder. My new Android phone supports Google profile usage. Maybe I'll attach a profile anime shinden pic by the next time I comment here... Interesting observation some have made re. 58D: HAL, the letters H, A, and L immediately precede the letters I, B, and M in the alphabet. HAL=IBM? Coincidence? Or cleverly concealed "Easter egg?" Hmmmm... -Kevin anime shinden Quinn 31/5/14 13:43
Hi there, anime shinden Kevin You did indeed solve the "spam problem". anime shinden Well done! I've been trying to label you as a "non-spammer" for a year now without success :) I've heard about that potential anime shinden HAL/OBM anime shinden link before. Interesting indeed. I am a big fan of "Easter eggs" in movies. I've wasted quite a few hours of my life checking them out from lists on the Internet! 1/6/14 10:42
This is the simplest of blogs. I do the New York Times puzzle online every evening, the night before it is published in the paper. Then, I "Google & Wiki" the references that puzzle me, or that I find of interest. I post my findings, along with the solution, as soon as I am done, usually well before the newsprint version becomes available.

I worked on my first crossword puzzle when I was about 6-years-old, sitting on my Dad's knee. He let me "help" him with his puzzle almost every day as I was growing up. Over the years, Dad passed on to me his addiction to crosswords. Now in my early 50s, I work on my Irish Times and New York Times puzzles every day. I'm no longer sitting on my Dad's knee, but I feel that he is there with me, looking over my shoulder. anime shinden This blog is dedicated to my Dad, who passed away at the beginning of this month.
