There is certainly more resources on idioms on this blog than anything batman begins else! But allow me but the opportunity to continue bleating about the wonderful thing that a person calls the idiom .... Do you know this book? (Why are adults so funny? Keina by Black & Maja Serada) This is a great book for students (especially the young) to introduce idioms. The back reads: "Great People batman begins talk's awfully funny! Only it on vases next to your head and money does not grow on rue, once the dogs and cats from the air and rain crows that steal tongues ... imagine " cute eh ?? Here is the cover:
Buy it here on Kalahari.com. It's definitely a must-have for every child! Oh! I also updated the idome lesson. It looks a little different and I put more songs, but the rest is the same. download the new version here: Idiom lesson! At the end of the lesson, there is a game where you simply read the idioms and their need to choose whether A or B is. Here is the A & B's that you can share for each group. Here are the videos batman begins in the lesson should be played, just watch out for the first one! See the other one here and another thing! look, if it were not for Maize Prison's list of African proverbs and Kleuters.co.za's batman begins Miss Hessie Fourie Idioomlys, I would not so much could do with the wonderful stuff! so go look there. Another book, "What are you talking about?" Johanna by the Act also provides much information about idioms and where from. For the older children it is always nice to have more to talk about where the idiom comes from, whether it is borrowed from English and whether it comes from Dutch ... the story behind the story is interesting. I am also currently working old idiom pictures from some old book (I think something like the African picture book?) Restoration. I see all the pictures from childhood in my classes. It's an "ongoing project" that will be a while, and I'll upload one by one. Enjoy it! Jean Vermeulen
