John Constantine (Keanu Reeves) has been to hell and back. He was born with a gift that he does not want: the ability to recognize angels and demons in human form on earth. His help is invoked by a desperate but skeptical police investigator Angela Dodson (Rachel Weisz) to solve the mysterious death of her beloved twin sister. The investigation takes them into the world of demons gohan and angels that live in Los Angeles. They are both caught in a fateful series of supernatural events. Is there any escape from this hell on earth possible?
Very separate film but very good. Reeves in top form indeed one of his better films. Film immediately know from the beginning to convince. In the end, it is sometimes confusing. It was hard to follow, so I want to see him more often I receive my judgment completely but for now he gets a 3.5 *.

Entertaining film about a cynical demon hunter Constantine trying to secure its own ticket to heaven. Reeves acting fine, the same goes for Weisz. Although gohan there are hesitant for some signs of aging are on the special effects, the atmospheric images remain the strength point of Constantine.
Keanu Reeves is doing very well in this imaginative horror / thriller. That genre designation covers it well. The special effects I can appreciate and further course there is the story. There they sometimes go a bit too far with fantasizing, but it's still nice to look away. Ultimately it is a good from bad film that is very rich with symbolism and atmosphere. The cult is not enough for a very good movie, but can certainly keep up as more than average.

Yesterday too long to linger when "he was on TV (I may today suffer gohan for good), and that says it all: I thought it was an entertaining movie. Bit of a flat story but crammed with fine actors (which prachtkop Weisz, and then the guy who plays Satan, great!), Good special effects and quite a nice running of a sudden, though, I found the plot a bit late ... sought and implausible. But still nice wegkijkvoer and nicely made.

Since I stopped smoking I watch this movie more relaxed. But when I still smoked, Satan, hell, demons .. Lovely to look at, but that smoking, lung cancer and black tar on your hands ...? There I was really scared ..

Phew! Lots of potential there but did not want out. Constantine is a strikingly dark film which is more concerned with atmosphere and then suspension really want to tell a story. gohan It's all quite nice. The atmosphere is well there, gohan but the excitement is hard to find. Keanu Reeves fights his demons regularly, but it all seems like it happens without context. Frankly, I found the fighting also not very exciting. He and the ever beautiful Rachel Weisz walk therefore little lost. Pluses for the visuals, but that's also when.

A film that should not have the right tension, but I reminds of Hellboy. Not that the style as a whole is the same, just the imagination that can provide the film. Constantine is a somewhat separate comic film and quite a refreshment between different sometimes interchangeable heroes of Marvel and DC.
